Laser installation
Maindeck in front of STWST
Part of Exhibition: visible Friday and Saturday evening and night
The installation creates a light surface that is both visually impressive and tactilely challenging. By immersing oneself in a sea of light, it manifests itself as a tangible medium in which the interaction itself becomes a fleeting sculpture. The installation invites visitors to playfully explore space, perception, and the boundaries between body and light. The experience changes depending on the position, movement, and group dynamics of the visitors. Temporary light sculptures emerge that exist only in the moment of being in between—fleeting and intense at the same time. The interaction of light and shadow plays with perception, with the drawing of boundaries and their dissolution. The light is both a barrier and an invitation.
Thanks to a special lens, the laser light is refracted into a room-filling, uniform plane that is harmless to the eyes and cameras of visitors. This creates a unique invitation to interact with laser light in a way that is not normally possible in a safe manner.
Maximilian Wagenbach (Berlin | Hamburg) has been working under the name Krek for many years as an independent artist, technician, and developer with a great passion for light, lasers, interior design, and digital art. He designs and builds laser installations, interactive light objects, and large-scale sculptures. In his work, he combines classic, analog materials with modern, digital technology. By combining laser beams, special optical lenses, and mirrors, he creates optical effects that are particularly eye-catching. His personal motivation is to create beautiful places that bring people together and provide a space for new things to emerge. In recent years, he has participated in the Fusion Festival, Chaos Computer Club events, MS Stubnitz, and various other events and festivals. https://krektech.de/
